National Laws 65% open

Belgium

What data is expected?

This data category requires all national laws and statutes to be available online, although it is not a requirement that information on legislative behaviour e.g. voting records is available.

  • Content of the law / status
  • Date of last amendment
  • Amendments to the law (if applicable)

How open is the data?

The data is available through the Ministry of Justice portal, http://www.juridat.be/. Laws are searchable by department and domain, where content and amendments are available, in addition to supplementary information, such as signatures. The original review was amended: laws are not copyrightable in Belgium and are therefore considered to be in the public domain. Thank you Alyssa Beaton, Bart Hannsens, Lucia Decuyper and Michael Robert Beatty for contributing to the Global Open Data Index.
