Weather Forecast 45% open

Cambodia

What data is expected?

3-day forecasts of temperature, precipitation and wind. Forecasts have to be provided for several regions in the country. Short-term weather forecasts are relevant for the general public to plan activities, while also being reliable. See our methodology section for more information.

  • Temperature extremes
  • Temperature average
  • Wind speed
  • Wind direction
  • Precipitation Amount
  • Precipitation Probability
  • Forecast for current day and four following days

How open is the data?

There are only 3-days of forecast and data visualised in a virtual map.

The submission was changed, because 5-day forecasts are an optional data characteristic. Required are forecasts for the current day and the 3 following days. Usability of data: The data of city forecasts, available at: http://www.cambodiameteo.com/forecast?menu=116&lang=en&day=undefined&areaid=12 are fairly easy to understand for humans (using icons). However there is no legend to interpret them. It is hard to derive the precipitation amount from the icons (checking the HTML code shows the names of the icons. These give some indication what the icons mean ("slight rain")). Scraping is needed to make data usable. The forecast data is represented as icons (png) embedded in HTML code. Since they can be individually addressed (and have a clear naming) it was accepted as HTML. Data cannot be downloaded at all. Also there are neither an open license, nor terms of use displayed. It could not be verified whether data is in the public domain or not.
