Government Budget 60% open

Panama

What data is expected?

National government budget at a high level, that is the planned government expenditure for the upcoming year, and not the actual expenditure. Open budget data allows for well-informed publics: showing where money is spent on, how public funds develop over time, and why certain activities are funded. We recommend that you consult our methodology section for more information.

How open is the data?

Although the government has recently launched the "Open Data Portal on the cKan platform, there is a lack of appropriate diffusion and communication strategies for citizens to access and reuse information, in addition the few datasets are mostly oriented to Accountability issues based on the transparency law (wich is important for some citizens), but there is a lack of useful data for the citizens.

The law is available from the government gazette. But the machine readable data only for expenditure per month.
