National Laws 60% open

Bangladesh

What data is expected?

This data category requires all national laws and statutes to be available online, although it is not a requirement that information on legislative behaviour e.g. voting records is available.

  • Content of the law / status
  • Date of last amendment
  • Amendments to the law (if applicable)

How open is the data?

B1: Data collected by the government. B1.1: Data can be found here: https://lawjusticediv.portal.gov.bd/ Provided by the Ministry of Law and Justice. B2: Correct, yet you might need to navigate a little to find the information. I searched under the "Laws and Rules" tab. B2.2: An easier site to navigate can be found here: https://bdlaws.minlaw.gov.bd/index.php It leads straight to the laws. Also the laws switches from English to Sanskrit after 1986. B4: Yes it is free of charge and can be downloaded via PDF. B7: No, the government has a copyright on all data and published laws. B8: It is available in PDF. Overall, the data seemed to there, yet it does take time to find the database. After searching for sometime, I found a useful link that makes it a little easier to navigate. https://bdlaws.minlaw.gov.bd/index.php
