National Laws 30% open

Bhutan

What data is expected?

This data category requires all national laws and statutes to be available online, although it is not a requirement that information on legislative behaviour e.g. voting records is available.

  • Content of the law / status
  • Date of last amendment
  • Amendments to the law (if applicable)

How open is the data?

The laws for Bhutan are listed on the websites for National Assembly of Bhutan, Office of Attorney General of Bhutan, and Royal Court of Justice. The laws are listed in alphabetical order. While amendments are listed, they do not seem to be linked accordingly. The year of law/amendment is listed, but the exact date is not readily apparent. The title is available to view in HTML, while the content of the law is available to download in PDF. The data is not openly licensed, as indicated on the website, "the information available on this Site including the media resources, are protected by copyright, trademark and other forms of proprietary rights. All rights, title and interest in the Contents are owned by, licensed to or controlled by Parliament of Bhutan only."
