The submissions in this data category do not need to include detailed financial data such as balance sheet, etc. Open data from company registers may be used for many ends: e.g. enabling customers and businesses to see with whom they deal, or to see where a company has registered offices. Searching through the Santiago Chamber of Commerce's website, the Ministry of Finance's website, and the Open Data portal (https://datos.gob.cl) no information of interest could be found. The Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism has a facility for checking whether company names are registered, which doubles as a search engine of sorts for registered companies and their ID numbers: https://www.empresaen1dia.cl/res.verificamarcasmp.aspx However, there is no evidence of more detailed company data being available. There is also an unofficial online directory of Chilean companies current to 2012, provided by the non-profit SOFOFA, which can be freely browsed: https://www.sofofa.cl/Net/DirectorioIndustrial/Consulta/WebForms/Buscar.aspx Company Name, Tax ID, Address/Postal/Web/E-mail Address, and Phone/Fax Numbers are available through a search mask, so it is necessary to know the name or Tax ID of an entity in order to find it.
