Weather Forecast 0% open

Dominican Republic

What data is expected?

3-day forecasts of temperature, precipitation and wind. Forecasts have to be provided for several regions in the country. Short-term weather forecasts are relevant for the general public to plan activities, while also being reliable. See our methodology section for more information.

  • Temperature extremes
  • Temperature average
  • Wind speed
  • Wind direction
  • Precipitation Amount
  • Precipitation Probability
  • Forecast for current day and four following days

How open is the data?

Forecasts are available for 3 days, but these forecasts are not updated every day, but only once a forecast range expires. The forecast is not split per day which does not qualify for the index. It contains verbal descriptions of cloud coverage and precipitation. In different format forecasts are available at: https://www.onamet.gov.do/?param=region_este But here wind forecasts are missing. In addition there are current observations, available at: https://186.120.187.237/ema/index.html. The terms of use in the footer of the website do not link to a statement explaining the legal status further. Because terms of use are unclear, the data does not count as openly licensed.
