  • Wind speed
  • Wind direction
  • Precipitation Amount
  • Precipitation Probability
  • Forecast for current day and four following days

How open is the data?

I am still waiting to get a response from the Ghana Meteorological Agency about access to weather forecast data. I will update the review once I have additional information.

The submission is correct. Weather data are provided as paid services. Details can be found at: https://www.meteo.gov.gh/website/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=37&Itemid=56# The charge is made dependent on the use case of the data. It seems that commercial applications are charged more than non-commercial ones, but there is no price list that would enable verifying pricing models. It was not possible to verify if forecasts for several days are provided. A user must email the agency with details of what exactly they need as stated on this website: https://www.meteo.gov.gh/website/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=54:how-do-i-apply-for-meteorological-data-from-meteorological-agency&catid=36:faq-items&Itemid=55. A link to a request form was available, but not working as of January 19th, 2017 as 5;55 am GMT. Another try on February 10th, 2017, 1.30pm GMT brought similar results.
