Weather Forecast 0% open

Guatemala

What data is expected?

3-day forecasts of temperature, precipitation and wind. Forecasts have to be provided for several regions in the country. Short-term weather forecasts are relevant for the general public to plan activities, while also being reliable. See our methodology section for more information.

  • Temperature extremes
  • Temperature average
  • Wind speed
  • Wind direction
  • Precipitation Amount
  • Precipitation Probability
  • Forecast for current day and four following days

How open is the data?

There are no forecasts for two days. Therefore the data does not qualify for assessment. Instead of a value, the Precipitation Probability is display with icons and descriptive text. The information is at 2 different URL's. One with a very general daily forecast, and the other about the current weather data in a more detailed output. There's no forecast for the following days, instead they publish a weekly bulletin consistent of only descriptive text in a pdf format Forecasts for precipitation are outdated and only describe weather for the following first day. Weather forecast for current day are available at: https://www.insivumeh.gob.gt/meteorologia/bolpro.htm. Also a weather map is provided for the current day at https://www.insivumeh.gob.gt/meteorologia/mapatiempo.htm It could not be verified whether the data is in public domain, but it is likely not to given that where is an (outdated) copyright notice at the bottom of the page.
