National Laws 0% open

Oman

What data is expected?

This data category requires all national laws and statutes to be available online, although it is not a requirement that information on legislative behaviour e.g. voting records is available.

  • Content of the law / status
  • Date of last amendment
  • Amendments to the law (if applicable)

How open is the data?

Per the original submitter (Riyadh Al-Balushi) and reviewer (Michael Beatty), "the Ministry of Legal Affairs is responsible for publishing laws in Oman. Laws are published on weekly basis in the Official Gazette, which is uploaded to the website as a PDF document. The individual laws, in addition to primary and secondary legal instruments, are uploaded to the website as separate PDFs, too. There is no option on the website to view the laws in pure text format and there is no option on the website to download all the laws in bulk." The titles of Oman laws are available view in HTML, while the content of the law is available to download in PDF format. Amendments (and dates of) are not listed, therefore I have modified the submission accordingly to reflect the availability of the data. The data is available here: https://www.mola.gov.om/mainlaws.aspx.
