List of registered (limited liability) companies. The submissions in this data category do not need to include detailed financial data such as balance sheet, etc. Open data from company registers may be used for many ends: e.g. enabling customers and businesses to see with whom they deal, or to see where a company has registered offices. This definition draws on the work of OpenCorporates.

Your submission is valid. Thank you very much for contributing to the Global Open Data Index. Data are available for free via the Company Search feature by the National Superintendency of Tax Administration (SUNAT) website which is in Spanish. However, one needs to know an entity's name or RUC (Single Taxpayer Registration number) in order to find it, as well as to enter a captcha code. Results are given in .HTML format and cannot be downloaded at once. Whether they are frequently updated is also unknown. At a glance, RUC, Name, Location (city), and State are provided. Once clicked on an entity's RUC, more information are available: Number of RUC, Type of Taxpayer, Tradename, Date of Inscription, Start Date of Activities, Taxpayer Status, Taxpayer's Status, Address, Proof of Issuance System, Accounting System, Economic activities, Proof of Payment, Electronic Emission System, Electronic Issuer since (date), Electronic Vouchers, Affiliated to PLE since (date), and Standards. Please note that the website is not very cooperative. It crashes at almost every search request as well as almost every time a RUC is selected and shows either a message saying the page took too long to load, or a message saying "The application has returned the following problem: There were problems processing the query by ruc number. Action to be taken: Please try again to run the option, if you continue with the problem, contact our webmaster." Thus, one may need to submit their search query for a specific entity more than once in order to get (and then access the) results.
