The submissions in this data category do not need to include detailed financial data such as balance sheet, etc. Open data from company registers may be used for many ends: e.g. enabling customers and businesses to see with whom they deal, or to see where a company has registered offices. This definition draws on the work of OpenCorporates.

The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) responsible for collecting the data doesn't seem to openly offer company information on their website: https://www.brela.go.tz/ There could be an Online Official Search feature via the "Online Business Registration System - including company name clearance and official search", however one needs to log in to access it, and registration requires providing some type of identification: https://ors.brela.go.tz/login The only available information I could find, was a "list of some companies with outstanding Returns which have been verified. The list will be being updated as the auditing exercise goes on." The list includes Company number, Company name, Date of registration, company address (but this is not provided for all companies), and years of returns not paid: https://www.brela.go.tz/_brela_uploads/documents/news/tangazo_english.pdf Source: https://www.brela.go.tz/index.php/companies/companies_news The Open Data portal (https://opendata.go.tz) also doesn't appear to have any company data available. Hence, there is no option but to mark the dataset as non-existent.
